POVIR: Believe in Yourself, Believe in Education . EdCamp VOLIA 2023

Instead of the joy of playing and learning in elementary school, Illia used to hide in a bomb shelter with his family. Marichka, who finished the 7th grade, studied new science subjects online and was deprived of the opportunity to conduct experiments, so vital for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Oksana, a high school graduate, stayed abroad, studied at two schools at once, and worries a lot about college admission. All these are real stories of real people.

During the National EdCamp VOLIA 2023, EdCamp Ukraine NGO presented POVIR, a unique government-and-CSO project, the name of which stands for “overcoming educational losses and gaps.”

We are putting into it our tremendous faith in every child and their ability to cope with challenges and problems. This faith is the foundation for a sustainable approach.

POVIR is a national educational platform accredited and enriched by the experience of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

What will the platform do? It will help, free of charge, Ukrainian students from middle and high schools identify and catch up with their individual educational losses and reduce educational gaps in general.

With whom? With trained educators.

Where? In a safe and friendly online space.

How? With attention to the needs of each student and their choice of a better future.
